Staten Island Behavioral Health Services offers a comprehensive treatment
services for those affected by substance dependence in a spirit of respect,
integrity, compassion and excellence and confidentiality. Our multi-disciplinary
staff helps clients to move toward physical, psychological and spiritual
well-being, which encourages and supports improved functioning in social roles
and economic self-sufficiency.
Our Inpatient Alcohol and Chemical Detoxification Unit
serves individuals with a primary diagnosis of alcohol and/or chemical addiction
who are in need of a medically managed inpatient program. This may include
individuals with additional physical and/or psychiatric disorders. Treatment
includes individual and group counseling, self-help groups, addiction education,
acupuncture, aftercare planning and referrals.
The Chemical Dependency Crisis Center provides medically
monitored withdrawal services, 24/7. The Center offers two phases: The
Sobering-Up Phase which is generally 72 hours; and the Extended Stay Phase which
extends the stay up to 14 days while individuals are awaiting admission to
another inpatient facility or community residence. Comprehensive evaluation,
24-hour medical coverage, individual counseling, referral/advocacy and addiction
education are included in the services offered.
The Open Door Center provides comprehensive ambulatory
treatment services for adults with alcoholism and/or substance abuse, their
families/significant others, as well as adult children of alcoholics. The
Center provides two treatment modules, rehabilitation and clinic services.
Comprehensive evaluation, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention,
medication management and relapse prevention are services offered.
The Silberstein Center offers outpatient chemical dependency
services, including: intensive day groups, evening groups; ACOA groups;
acupuncture; aftercare services; family issues groups and DWI evaluations. We
offer buprenorphine treatment where appropriate for adults ages 18 or older aho
are struggling with an addiction to heroin or other painkillers.
