Hospitals, Facilities and Services > Skilled Nursing Facilities > Bishop Mugavero

Services

Each resident is assigned to one of the facility's on-site primary care physicians. If hospitalization becomes necessary at any time, the nursing home physicians follow the care of their residents while they are patients in the hospital. Nursing care is provided by a skilled team of registered and licensed practical nurses, as well as certified nursing assistants. Each nursing unit is supervised by a nursing unit supervisor who has 24-hour responsibility for the unit.

Short Term Rehabilitation
Suffering from a multiple fracture, hip injury, or maybe you have had an orthopedic procedure, like a joint replacement? Bishop Mugavero Center delivers skilled rehabilitation services for people of all ages. We help you gain strength, enhance the quality of life and return home as quickly as possible.

Our specialized teams also work with people who have had a stroke, neurological impairment, or are recovering after a lengthy illness before returning home.

The needs of each resident are unique and our rehabilitation team develops individualized plans of care to meet those needs. Most residents receive an average of one-to-three hours of rehabilitation daily, which can include physical, occupational and speech therapy. Discharged residents may continue their rehabilitative care at home through Saint Vincent's Home Health Agency.

The Rainbow Program
The Rainbow Program cares for residents who exhibit repetitive behavior, or are at risk for falls, and suffer from agitation and dementia. It provides a safe environment for residents that allows them to participate in therapeutic recreation at their individual levels of functioning, giving them the opportunity to enjoy successes that lead to increased self-esteem and an improved quality of life.

Therapeutic Recreation
Games are more than fun. Our therapeutic recreational activities help residents through physical and cognitive recovery and maintenance, as well as improving their emotional well-being. And therapeutic recreation helps residents to function independently within the facility. Activities like bingo and "horseracing" are complemented by exciting field trips - all designed to engage residents in daily activities.

We accept Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance coverage as well as self-pay arrangements. We also participate in many managed care plans. Our financial screener will assist you or your family member with applying for Medicaid.

We're a Faith-Based Home

We are highly respectful of each resident's individual beliefs, and our pastoral care staff includes representatives from many religions, including Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, Islamic, Mormon, and Christian Science. In addition, our social workers are available, seven days a week and interpreter services can be arranged through them.
