Dr. Helbig is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the New York Academy of Medicine. He serves as an adjunct clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery at New York Medical College, and assistant clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Helbig earned his medical degree from Boston University's School of Medicine and completed a surgical residency at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan. After completing military service, he finished another residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital and a fellowship in reconstructive joint surgery at Peter Bent Brigham and Robert Breck Brigham Hospital.
Dr. Helbig specializes in general orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic trauma.
