History and Mission

History
Established in 1994, St. Elizabeth Ann's Health Care & Rehabilitation Center offers residential services for a number of special populations beyond the traditional geriatric. This includes one of New York's largest ventilator dependent units, for those in need of long-term ventilator care or short-term pulmonary rehabilitation. In addition, a center for people living with AIDS serves those in need of long- or short-term care. In 1997, with the advent of sub-acute care and short-term rehabilitation, St. Elizabeth Ann's began serving those in need of inpatient physical, occupational and/or speech therapy and those requiring medically complex care who anticipate returning home. In 1999, the facility opened its center for neurobehavioral rehabilitation on the campus of Bayley Seton Hospital.
