How to Begin the Healing Process
Many patients are referred to us by their primary care physician; others call us directly at 718-818-1117.  During the initial telephone call, we will:

� Ask questions about your care and needs	� Collect insurance information
� Recommend a specialists based upon your needs	� Obtain pre-certification for your treatment, if needed.

Treatment
In order to design an individual treatment plan for you, we may ask you for some diagnostic tests, including blood work and vascular testing.  We will also arrange for a visiting nurse, if necessary.

Hyperbaric Therapy - Oxygen's Healing Touch
Our Center for Wound Healing houses two hyperbaric chambers to deliver oxygen's healing touch.  This simple, painless, non-invasive treatment enhances the body's natural healing and strengthens the immune system.  Delivered by trained specialists, hyperbaric therapy is a highly effective treatment option for most chronic wounds.

Education
We want you to understand all aspects of your care because when you understand why we are asking you to do something, the chances of you doing it are greatly increased.  This hastens the healing process.  We will also teach you how to prevent future wounds and will include your caregiver in this process.

Your Physician
Our goal is to treat what we treat best - chronic, non-healing wounds. During treatment, we provide your physician with regular updates on your progress and when your wound is healed, we refer you back to him or her for primary care.
