Community Open House Scheduled For St. John's Queens Hospital's Maternity-Child Area

Elmhurst, New York, June 8, 2006 � In celebration of their remodeled Maternity-Child area, St. John�s Queens Hospital is pleased to invite members from the community to an Open House� on Saturday, June 17, 2006 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Families are invited to tour the remodeled unit and receive information about the services. The Maternity-Child area is located on the fourth floor of the hospital at 90-02 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst.
The new area features private and semi-private rooms with new bathrooms with showers in each room. Besides the tour, the event will feature staff members sharing the latest information about pregnancy, labor and delivery and answer questions. The staff will include a childbirth educator, nurses and physicians, including Spanish and Russian speaking staff. There will be giveaways for the children, refreshments and educational handouts.
This event is sponsored by Fidelis Care, a managed care company whose goal is to provide the finest quality healthcare to everyone in New York State who does not have access to health insurance.
