The Program

Our Hospitalist Program consists of full-time, highly trained, dedicated attending physicians who provide in-house coverage of the pediatric, geriatric and internal medicine units 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The hospitalists also have the ongoing backup support of highly qualified attending subspecialists in many disciplines to ensure around-the-clock, comprehensive care.

In addition to our excellent Geriatric, Internal Medicine and Pediatric hospitalists, we also have two full-time Chinese hospitalists to ensure that our Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking patients' needs are thoroughly understood and met.  Both Chinese hospitalists are board certified in internal medicine.

Through our Hospitalist Program, you have the option of admitting patients yourself with the backup, in-house support of the hospitalists, or having the hospitalists admit and follow your patients for you. Patients can be admitted either through the emergency room or directly to their respective inpatient unit.  Our hospitalists will keep you undated and informed every step of the way so you can develop a care plan together.  Excellent communication is the hallmark of our hospitalist service.

• You can admit your patients to your services but sign them out to the hospitalist service on weekends and holidays

• Be cared for by a board-certified physician, with weekend coverage by board-certified internists whom specialize in geriatric, internal medicine or geriatric care
• Receive immediate response, at their bedside, to clinical conditions, and
• Obtain timely and effective testing and treatment.

How Do Our Hospitalists Work with You?
To ensure that you play a key role in your patient's care, our hospitalists will:

• Communicate with you frequently throughout the hospital stay, 
• Call in your preferred consultants, should they be necessary,
• Speak with you to finalize the hospital discharge and follow-up plans, 
•  Send discharge summaries to your office in a timely fashion,
• Keep you regularly updated on your patients' progress should they require prolonged hospital     stays, and
• Refer your discharged patients back to you.
