Application Information


Basic Information for Applicants to Internal Medicine, Combined Medicine-Pediatrics and Transitional Year Programs

  • Applications are processed through ERAS only.
  • The deadline for applications is January 15.
  • Applicants must have graduated from medical school within the past 2 years.
  • USMLE scores are considered individually, but the following may be helpful:
  • Candidates who have failed any Step on multiple occasions will usually not be considered.
  • Candidates generally must have a score in the 80th percentile or greater.
  • It is advantageous to have scores for Step 1 and 2 available by late January.
  • If your medical school requires that you pass Step 2 in order to graduate, that score must be available prior to the deadline for NRMP ranking.
  • Step 2 CS is required if the candidate's medical school requires it.
  • Transcript and Dean's letter are very important for ranking, but may not be necessary for an invitation to interview.
  • VISA's are generally not supported by the Department of Medicine.
  • Interviews are held in November, December and January.
  • Interviews are arranged by e-mail invitation only.
  • Observerships are generally not offered.
