Dr. Nanwai Alexander Pak Joins St. Vincent's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

-- Dr. Pak Brings Physiatry Expertise to the Comprehensive Stroke Team --

February 7, 2007, New York, NY -- Dr. Nanwai Alexander Pak, a board certified physiatrist, has joined St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Having advanced training in the treatment of people with traumatic brain injuries, Dr. Pak also serves as an integral member of the St. Vincent's Comprehensive Stroke Team.

Prior to joining St. Vincent's, Dr. Pak served with the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ, as Clinical Chief of Traumatic Brain Injury Services.

In addition to English, Dr. Pak is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese.

Dr. Pak earned his undergraduate degree from National Taiwan University. He furthered his studies at Boston University, earning his MS with special recognition for outstanding achievement. He graduated magna cum laude from the Emilio Aguinaldo College of Medicine in the Philippines where he obtained his MD.

'Dr. Pak is highly skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from brain injuries and related disabilities and is a vital part of our comprehensive interdisciplinary team.'

After serving an internship at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, Dr. Pak completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at St. Vincent's Hospital, Manhattan. He has held the academic rank of Assistant Clinical Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
