Comprehensive.  Cooperative.  A unique new approach to women's health and wellness

At the Gianna Center for Women, we are delighted offer a new, exciting approach to women's healthcare.

We combine comprehensive primary care with specialized obstetrical and gynecologic care and serve women with a deep commitment to honoring their dignity and natural ecology of their bodies. With this as our promise, we are uniquely qualified to care for women of all ages and at all stages of life.

We are pleased to be the first medical practice in New York City to feature two new women's health services -- the CreightonModel FertilityCare System and NaProTechnology, both of which allow us to provide you with a natural, scientifically-based approach to monitoring your health and managing your fertility.

NaProTechnology also provides a new approach to the treatment of infertility that is as effective as in vitro fertilization, allows a couple to conceive naturally, does not create or destroy embryos, and is covered by most health insurances in New York State.

Our mission is simple - to acknowledge your dignity as a woman and to provide you, our patient, with exceptional medical care.  Our goal is to be of genuine service to you - and we look forward to serving your healthcare needs.

Creighton Model FertilityCare System

The Creighton Model FertilityCare System (CrMS) is a modern approach to natural family planning.

  • By simply learning to identify the signs of a woman's fertility, a couple can successfully space their children according to their unique needs.
  • As a true method of family planning, it can be used to both achieve and avoid a pregnancy.
    • Fertility-focused intercourse allows 98.5% of couples to achieve a pregnancy within six months.
    • When used to avoid pregnancy, the method is 99.5% effective.
  • The Creighton Model FertilityCare System Chart also serves as a diagnostic tool, allowing Gianna physicians to diagnose and treat underlying reproductive and gynecologic disorders, using NaProTechnology.
  • Education in the CrMS is available at Gianna Healthcare.  Please contact our FertilityCare Center for an introductory session.

About Insurance Coverage
Insurers are required to cover the diagnosis and treatment of correctable medical conditions and shall not exclude coverage of a condition solely because the medical condition results in infertility. Private, group health insurance plans, issued or delivered in the state of New York providing coverage for hospital care or surgical and medical care are required to provide coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility for patients between the ages of 21 and 44, who have been covered under the policy for at least 12 months. Certain procedures are excluded from this requirement, including IVF, GIFT, ZIFT, reversal of elective sterilization, sex change procedures, cloning, and experimental procedures. Plans that include coverage for prescription drugs must include coverage of drugs approved by FDA for use in diagnosis and treatment of infertility. (New York Consolidated Laws, Insurance, Section 3221(k)(6), Section 4303(s).)

The Gianna Center for Women is pleased to be a Catholic healthcare center.  All our women-centered services are in keeping with Catholic ethical principles.
