Saint Vincent's offers comprehensive treatment services for opiod addiction at centers in Brooklyn, Queens and Westchester County. Our multidisciplinary treatment teams provide individualized care in a supportive environment where treatment staff are sensitive to the specific needs of persons with a history of substance abuse. The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services requires a patient to have used heroin for at least one year and be over 18 years of age. Patients are referred from other programs, the court, and Riker's Island. Walk-in clients are also accepted in treatment..

Our treatment centers provide the following services:

• Pharmacotherapy using methadone
• Medical management, including physical examination, monitoring and follow-up
• Nursing services, including health teaching, health screening, urine screening, symptom education, etc.
• HIV/IAIDS services, including educaiton, testing, primary medical care, follow-up, referral, etc.
• Assessment and treatment planning
• Counseling
• Relapse prevention
• Case management
• Discharge planning
