New York, NY, May 15, 2008 - St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan and Eli Manning held a football clinic for 12 lucky New York City school children. Eli Manning donated the clinic as an auction item during St. Vincent's annual fundraiser. Hospital board member, T.K. Duggan, bid on the clinic at the Angelus Gala, and then donated it for use by school children in the area.
The group of grade school children were given the ultimate football clinic when Eli Manning, Giants quarterback and Super Bowl MVP, welcomed them to Giants Stadium. The clinic featured Eli running drills with the school students, giving football pointers, along with a tour of the field and locker room. Each child received an autograph from the MVP player.
'This was such an excellent opportunity to do good,' said T.K. Duggan, Managing Principal of Durham Asset Management LLC and Saint Vincent's Board member. 'Not only was I able to make a gift to St. Vincent's, but then some local children were able to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience with Super Bowl Champion quarterback, Eli Manning.'
The football clinic was actually auctioned off in November at the hospital's yearly benefit with Board Chairman Alfred E. Smith, IV as the auctioneer, prior to the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl.
