Christopher Panczner Named Chief Legal Counsel for Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers

New York, NY, May 12, 2008 - Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers (Saint Vincent's) today named Christopher Panczner as chief legal counsel to the hospital system. Mr. Panczner will oversee all aspects of the organization's legal affairs, including guidance on key strategic initiatives such as the organization's plan to build New York City's first from the ground up all-digital and 'green' hospital.

Recognized as a 'New York Super Lawyer' for health care attorneys in both the 2006 and 2007 special supplement of Law & Politics in The New York Times, Mr. Panczner has extensive experience in the practice of health care law. He most recently served as a senior member at Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. in the health care and life sciences practice of the firm's New York office, and will remain of counsel to the firm. In his role there, he represented hospitals and health systems, health care payors, managed care organizations, proprietary and non-profit healthcare providers, companies involved in e-health business, and lenders and other financial institutions having interests in the health care and life sciences industries. He is an expert in large commercial and not-for-profit healthcare transactions, and has extensive expertise in capital financing transactions.
Mr. Panczner has also served as an adjunct professor at the Pace University School of Law Health Law Program, including its internet-based, distance learning program for professionals.

Mr. Panczner and his wife, Dr. Maura Dickler, are both active in a number of charities, including the Education Alliance. He earned his B.A. from the University of Chicago, his J.D. from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and is admitted to both the Illinois and New York bars. He started in his new role at St. Vincent's on May 5th.
