New York, NY May 6, 2009- St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan announced today that it will offer a more precise technology to treat stomach cancer, through the ERBEJET(r) 2 Water-Jet technology. This tool facilitates Endoscopic Submuscosal Dissection through the use of an extremely thin laminar jet that rotates in a circular fashion and forces tumor tissue to lift and separate from underlying healthy tissue, facilitating endoscopic removal. St. Vincent's is the first hospital in Manhattan to offer this minimally invasive ultra precise technology.
The innovative ERBEJET(r) 2 technology offers many benefits in the application process. A major advantage of the Water-Jet technology is that it allows the doctor to attack the stomach cancer more precisely and reducing the risk to underlying healthy tissue during the procedure.
