The Benefits described herein are for eligible Non-Bargaining and Bargaining employees.
Voluntary Legal Club
The Voluntary Legal Club provides for complimentary legal services, such as:
- Unlimited face to face and phone consultations for all new legal matters.
- Phone calls made and letters written on your behalf.
- Help representing yourself in small claims court.
- Document review (up to six pages).
- Creation of a simple will. A simple will is a will that distributes personal property and homestead and not involving trusts, specific bequests, real estate, tax matters, guardianships, living wills, health care proxies or partitions.
The Voluntary Legal Club also offers other services at low, fixed fees.
Universal Life
SVCMC offers Universal Life which allows employees to build cash value accumulation. Loans and partial withdrawals are available. There is no physical exam required (up to $150,000 coverage). Coverage for your spouse and children is also available.
Voluntary Supplemental Short-Term Disability Plan
The Voluntary Supplemental Short-Term Disability Plan provides employees with supplemental benefit coverage if they become ill or injured (not work related). After meeting a 30-day waiting period, employees may be entitled to supplemental benefits between $300 - $3,000 per month or 40% of their base salary. The amount of benefits will be based on what the employee elected to purchase under the enhanced Supplemental Short-Term Disability Plan. This additional coverage is portable and rates are guaranteed for the life of the policy.
Section 529 College Savings Plan
SVCMC offers a 529 College Savings Plan designed to help employees save for post secondary school for themselves or a family member. The 529 College Savings Plan is available through Hamilton Cavanaugh & Associates (American Funds) or MetLife Resources (formerly CitiStreet). Contributions to the 529 College Savings Plan is directly withdrawn from your checking account by the investment company. Please note that the College Savings Plan 529 is not payroll deducted. The insurance company will arrange to debit the amount from your checking account.
Tuition Assistance Program
SVCMC offers a Tuition Reimbursement Plan available to meet the educational needs of all Non-Bargaining employees.
Qualified Transportation Expenses Plan (QTE
SVCMC offers a Qualified Transportation Plan that enables employees to set aside pre-tax dollars for their monthly commuting expenses if they commute to work using mass transit, including buses, subways, trains, ferries or if they park their car. Employees can enroll for up to $110 a month for mass transit commuting expenses and/or $215 in parking expenses.
