Our Cancer Services Network
serves patients through
St. Vincent's Staten Island, Pax Christi Hospice, and Regional Radiology
services.
Network services include inpatient care,outpatient
chemotherapy and blood products; advanced diagnostics, such as the
PET/CT scan and interventional radiology; women's services, including mammography,
a center for breast disease and gynecologic oncology; surgical intervention for
treatment of cancerous and precancerous lesions; state-of-the-art
radiotherapy, including brain and full-body stereotactic radiosurgery;
prostate cancer services, including seed implantation; pain management;
and blood disorder treatment, and clinical trials that offer patients
with selected types of cancer the opportunity to participate in the latest
therapies. All of our patients have access to information and
counselling by our nursing, Social Service and nutritional staff as well as
referrals to the American Cancer Society and other community support
services.
Helical CT Scanning
We
operate advanced Helical CT scanning for the early detection of lung
cancer at our affiliate, Regional Radiology. Regional Radiology is also one
of the sites for our network's stereotactic radiosurgery unit, which
through pinpointed radiation, is capable of treating cancerous tumors
anywhere in the body.
Inpatient Services:
Our
inpatient services provide state of the art services in a healing environment
close to home. In addition to standard therapy, this includes cryoablation, radiofrequency ablation
(RFA), and vertebroplasty.
