What is a Hospitalist?
If you are an inpatient at
St. Vincent's Hospital and your physician cannot see you here, one of our board
certified, Chinese-speaking, hospital-based physicians will care for you
throughout your stay, with the ongoing involvement of your physician.
This physician will also ease your transition home by developing a care
plan for you in conjunction with your own doctor.
About our Hospitalists
Our two board certified
physicians, who serve as hospitalists, are fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, and
they thoroughly understand the needs of our Chinese patients. They are active
members our Department of Medicine and able to access all our resources, 24
hours a day, 7 days a week
Faith Zhao,
M.D.
Dr. Zhao obtained her medical degree at Nanjing Medical
University, in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. She brings a wealth of
experience in internal medicine from Interfaith Medical Center, Brooklyn, where
she served as Chief Resident and received both the Best Intern and Best Resident
Awards. Dr Zhao is board certified in internal medicine.
Dan Zheng,
M.D.
Dr. Zheng obtained her medical degree at Guangzhou Medical
College in China. She subsequently pursued a residency in internal medicine at
North Shore University Hospital at Forest Hills where she received the
hospital's Excellence in Research Award. Following that, she completed a
fellowship in geriatrics at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital where she served as a
preceptor. Dr. Zheng is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible
in geriatric medicine.
