We provide full diagnostic
work-ups and customized treatment plans for women experiencing urinary and
rectal incontinence.
Before a customized treatment
plan can be developed, we identify the cause or causes of the incontinence
through a variety of diagnostic evaluations, including urodynamic studies to
identify the type of incontinence and cystoscopy, to examine the internal structures of the
bladder and urethra.
Depending on the cause or causes of the incontinence, we may prescribe one or
more of the following treatments: medical management, using specific
medications; medical symptom management and stress reduction; biofeedback
therapy; training by a licensed physical therapist in the clinically recognized
Kegel exercise regimen for strengthening the pelvic muscles; and surgical
intervention to repair or strengthen the pelvic floor.
