The Speech and Hearing Department provides diagnostic and therapeutic
services to a varied population with diverse communication needs. The center is
located on the ground floor of the Residence Building and is readily
accessible to patients. Diagnostic Audiological
Procedures We
employ four New York State licensed, American Speech and Hearing
Association (ASHA) certified audiologists who provide the following diagnostic
procedures:
- Complete audiological evaluations (CAE), consisting
of air, bone and speech audiometry
- Impedance audiometry including tympanometry, acoustic
reflexes, reflex decay, and Eustachian tube testing
- Retrocochlear studies including SISI, ABLB, tone
decay, PIPB function, Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry, Otoacoustic
Emissions Testing
- Electronystagmography (ENG)
- Central auditory processing studies, SCAN, SSW, SSI
- Hearing aid evaluations (HAE)
- Hearing aid consultations (HAC)
