Emergency Cardiac Care

Ready to Help 24/7
Our Level I Trauma Center — the only one below 14th Street on the West Side -- equips us to take on any emergency. Our emergency department is staffed and equipped to offer individuals experiencing chest pain immediate priority evaluation and, if necessary, emergency intervention and admission, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

HeartSaver AED Program
To help save lives within our community, our Institute of Emergency Care at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan  has instituted a HeartSaver AED Program to teach community members to provide early defibrillation to individuals experiencing a cardiac arrest. Studies indicate that this intervention, before Emergency Medical Services staff arrives, increases survival rates anywhere from 20 to 40 percent. Please call 212-604-7636 for more information.

In an emergency, call 9-1-1
