Heart Failure Prevention and Treatment

Heart failure, which is decreased pumping activity of the heart, is the only cardiovascular problem that continues to rise. This is caused by an aging population and the fact that science and medicine have made it possible for more people to survive other forms of cardiovascular disease. This is sometimes at the expense of decreased cardiac muscle function, leading to the syndrome of heart failure.

We have taken an aggressive approach to treating and managing our heart failure patients. Our cardiologists and nurses have created a program that offers you the most advanced and effective care available

We Work With Your Doctor
We understand the value of having your doctor involved in every aspect of your care, so members of our program work closely with your physician to provide you and your physician with high quality service.

Helping You Help Yourself
As a patient enrolled in our program, you will learn how to improve your heart's health through proper nutrition. We teach and strongly reinforce the importance of reading food labels and maintaining a low sodium diet.

Exercise Evaluation and Recommendations
Our program works to measure your exercise capacity and New York Heart Association Functional class through cardiopulmonary exercise testing. After thoroughly reviewing your test results, we recommend an exercise regimen tailored to meet your specific needs and modify it periodically as your strength and capacity increase.

Clinical Trials
Our cardiologists are at the forefront of the latest treatment options available. Our program offers access to new and innovative treatment methods and medications that are available through clinical trials. These medications follow rigorous Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines for safety and effectiveness and are approved by our Institutional Review Board.
