Staten Island

St. Vincent�s Hospital Staten Island maintains a house staff complement of over 100 residents, fellows and medical school students. As a healthcare provider based in one of the outer boroughs of New York City, the hospital offers physicians in training solid experience in community medicine. House Staff also participate in numerous clinical research activities.

Residency Programs
All training programs are approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (A.C.G.M.E.). Completion of the entire program in any department fulfills the A.C.G.M.E. requirements for eligibility for examination by its respective board.

St. Vincent�s maintains residencies in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology, surgery, and ophthalmology. In addition, there are fellowships in cardiology, hematology/oncology, and nephrology, All programs are sponsored by New York Medical College.

  • Flexible Spending Accounts: Healthcare Account Dependent Care Account
  • Short Term Disability Benefit: for non-occupational illnesses and accidental injuries, 66 2/3% of base salary to a maximum of $270 per week for weeks 2-5, then weeks 6-14 a maximum increase to $500, then weeks 15-27 maximum to $270.
  • Long Term Disability: Core benefit entitles disabled employee (beyond 180 days) to 60% of base salary up to a maximum payment of $7,500. Optional enhanced long term benefits available.
  • Life Insurance: Term Life-1x annual salary, up to $100,000 of coverage.
  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment based on severity of injury � up to $100,000.
  • Voluntary Term Life available for employee-1x, 2x, 3x, annual salary to maximum of $200,000.
  • Voluntary Term Life available for spouse, equal to 1/2 amount of voluntary term life insurance for employee.
  • Option to purchase universal, legal long-term care benefits at group rates.
