History In 1849, four Sisters of Charity founded St. Vincent's as a 30-bed hospital in a small brick house on 13th Street. We served the poor as one of the few charity hospitals in New York City. Today, St. Vincent's serves its community with some of the finest primary and specialty care services in the city.
Our Mission Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers is committed to reflecting God's love by advancing Christ's healing ministry, with Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence to all who come to us in need, especially the poor.
Our Values Respect: The basic dignity of the human person is the guiding principle in all our interactions, policies and procedures.
Integrity: Integrity is the consistency between the Catholic identity we profess and the ways in which we act. It is that quality of truthfulness, which fosters trust.
Compassion: Compassion is the way we share deep concern, love and care toward each person.
Excellence: Excellence is our way of demonstrating that we can always be more, always be better.
