The Neurosurgery Floor

The neurosurgery floor has 20 beds, including a four-bed neurosurgery ICU. Nurses specially trained in the management of neurological and neurosurgical diseases provide the staffing. The neurosurgery intensive care unit has capabilities for all types of invasive monitoring including trans-cranial Doppler and inter-cranial pressure monitoring.

Operating Room

The designated neurosurgery operating room is available to us at all times. It is staffed by specially-trained neurosurgical nurses. The operating room is large and outfitted with modern equipment, such as microscope, ultrasonic aspirator, intra-operative ultrasound, image-guided stereotactic system, BRW stereo-taxis system, and intra-operative neural monitoring. Specially trained neuro-anesthesiologists are also available.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery

Stereotactic radiosurgery facilities are available in the St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center, a top-notch facility providing world-class cancer care. We use the brain lab linear accelerator based system. This equipment and its software are truly cutting edge.
