The Department of Pediatrics offers a two-year
fellowship in Pediatric Palliative Care. Our program is designed to prepare the
fellow for a career in the practice of palliative care pediatrics. Our focus is
on the care of children living with life-threatening conditions other than
cancer, such as cystic fibrosis, HIV-related illness and severe neurological
disease. The fellowship is under the direction of Dr. Jayne Rivas, Chairperson
of the Department, and Dr. Gordon Hutcheon, Medical Director of the Center for
Pediatric Care at the New York Foundling Hospital. The program has a strong
clinical orientation, although there is ample time for the pursuit of clinical
research. Applicants must be board certified or eligible in
pediatrics.
