Overview
The profession of dentistry has been serving Saint Vincent
Catholic Medical Centers Queens hospitals for more than three-quarters of a century. Its dental internships have
been in existence since the late twenties. In the late forties, dental
residencies were instituted at St. John's Queens and Mary Immaculate Hospitals.
Since then the department of dental medicine and
oral-maxillofacial surgery has grown, not only in the hospitals mentioned, but also within their
surrounding communities. We now offer dental care through our family health centers in Elmhurst
and South Jamaica, communities where access to dental care is at a
minimum. We serve the elderly with dental offices in three of
our system's long term care facilities.
