Curriculum and Resources

Curriculum

The two-year fellowship is geared to provide a very strong foundation in clinical as well as investigative infectious diseases. Our well-rounded program includes an excellent clinical and research experience, as well as significant rotations or electives in infection control, dermatology, STDs, microbiology, wound care, pharmacology, antibiotic control and essential clinical laboratory techniques.

Resources and Facilities

We are a large teaching medical center Infectious Diseases Division, interested in providing state-of-the-art care to patients and their families. While we see patients and fellows are trained at the two teaching hospitals (Mary Immaculate and St. Johns) in Queens, we also provide outpatient ambulatory care at these sites or at family health centers in the community. Each fellow is assigned a panel of patients that they see in a single weekly teaching ambulatory session at the same site throughout their fellowship.

We specialize in treating patients with any infectious disease. We also are a New York State Designated HIV/AIDS Center , and provide state-of-the-art comprehensive HIV care to all patients (adults and children) infected with HIV. We are in full compliance with all ACGME/RRC requirements.
