the area, having set precedents in comprehensive care for women. The department
offers state-of-the-art technology, innovative procedures and experienced staff.
The antepartum testing unit and advanced laparoscopy service are just two
examples of this dedication to women's health services. The department participates in teaching rotating
physicians from various family practice and primary care residencies in the
Queens hospitals. The department has one delivery room, two operating
rooms, seven birthing rooms, 10 delivery/operating rooms, and 14 post-partum
beds and external rotations at affiliated hospitals in the metropolitan region.

variety of patients. The department is divided into the following divisions:
obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecology, ambulatory medicine,
gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility. In addition to
the program director and chairman, the department consists of five (5) full time

department also has an extensive network of voluntary attending physicians. All
staff attendings are offered an academic teaching appointment at New York
Medical College. Attending rounds in both obstetrics and gynecology are
conducted daily. Grand rounds occur weekly, presented by attending staff,
residents, or guest lecturers. Residents in conjunction with full-time
attendings conduct journal club. Each Wednesday there is a formal resident
