Dr. Thomas Renshaw reviews medical content for Healthwise, a
nonprofit organization with a mission to help people make better health
decisions. Dr. Renshaw specializes in pediatric orthopedics. He served as
Professor and Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedics at Yale University from 1992
until his retirement in August 2005. Dr. Renshaw now serves as an emeritus
professor at Yale University and works half-time for the Accreditation Council
for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Dr. Renshaw is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society and is
co-investigator for a research project on enhancing bone healing. He is the
author of the textbook Pediatric Orthopaedics, published
in 1986, and has written textbook chapters and many articles for peer-reviewed
orthopedic journals. He serves on the editorial board of Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, and the Italian Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics. Dr. Renshaw also serves on the
advisory board of Shriners Hospitals, reviews practices for the American Board
of Orthopaedic Surgery, and participates in Volunteers in Medicine.
