During a medical history to evaluate symptoms of possible
deep vein thrombosis, your doctor may ask:
- Do you have any pain or tender spots in your
legs?
- Have you noticed any new swelling in your
legs?
- How long have you noticed symptoms, such as pain or
swelling?
- Does the pain or swelling get worse when you stand, sit,
or walk?
- Have you ever had a blood clot?
- Do any of your
relatives have blood clotting problems?
- What medications are you
taking?
- Have you had surgery recently?
- Have you been on
any long trips recently?
- Do you have
varicose veins?
- Have you had any recent
injuries?
