You may be able to transport a child for emergency care if:
- The child is awake and responding (response may
be slow or confused).
- The child is breathing without
problems.
- Two adults are present so that one can drive safely and
the other can care for the child.
- The child does not have a head,
neck, or back injury.
In some communities, it may always be best to call an ambulance for
safe and quick transport because of traffic and distance to health care.
