Bishop Mugavero

Bishop Mugavero Center for Geriatric Care
155 Dean Street
Brooklyn, NY 11217
718-694-6715

What is in a Name?
Being named for the "Bishop of Charity" is quite an honor and responsibility. Bishop Mugavero, the first Brooklyn-born bishop of Brooklyn, always seemed to be looking out for someone else. He dedicated his efforts to social need, the elderly and the welfare of the people of his diocese. Here in historic Boerum Hill, Bishop Mugavero Center for Geriatric Care is proud to uphold his legacy. Through compassion and technology, we provide advanced care to the frail and rehabilitative care to all. The quality of the care we provide represents our dedication to the Bishop Mugavero tradition.

Compassionate care with all the comforts of home
If you or someone you love needs a long term facility, it should be as warm and comforting as your own home. Bishop Mugavero Center provides compassion as well as the skill necessary to care for the frail elderly and chronically ill. Our skilled staff provides all the services you would expect from a nursing facility, including podiatry, orthopaedic, dental and eye care, and ear, nose and throat services. But it is our attention to detail, our "Becoming Home" philosophy, and our commitment to an active, well-rounded experience that sets us apart.

Becoming Home
Wherever you see this logo, it will be a reminder that staff members and physicians throughout Saint Vincent's Continuing Care Services are committed to a cooperative effort to provide person-centric care that we call "Becoming Home." This process is a way for all of us - patients, residents, family members, physicians, staff members - to work together to make our nursing homes more "home like" and our home health programs more sensitive to the cultural needs of those we serve. We welcome your ideas and your support.
