Overview
Located on the campus of Bayley Seton Hospital, St. Elizabeth Ann's Center for Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation is a regional residential program serving the special needs of difficult to manage individuals with both organic and traumatic brain dysfunction, which may include intracranial injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral vascular accident, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis, obsessive compulsive disorder, organic brain injury and bipolar disorder. Our goal is to attain and maintain the individual at the highest achievable level of physical, affective, behavioral and cognitive functioning.

Our Team Approach
A medical director and an administrative program director head our professional clinical team. The team is comprised of the following: physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, registered professional nurse, licensed practical nurse, behavior specialists, occupational, recreational and physical therapists, social worker, certified nursing assistants, nutritionists, pastoral care and other support staff. Our affiliation with Bayley Seton and St. Vincent's Hospitals has enabled our team to facilitate medical, surgical psychiatric, emergent and diagnostic interventions when needed for/by our residents.

Services Available
Our specialized behavior intervention team assists people in achieving their goals by helping them learn new behavior patterns, improve coping skills, explore consequences of behavior, achieve insight into their behaviors, plan more effective ways to overcome stress and learn to make better choices about behavior and life planning.

The center's therapeutic recreational program provides the opportunity for facilitating the development, maintenance and expression of an appropriate leisure lifestyle. Recreation therapy plays a primary role in enhancing the quality of life and productivity of the residents. Enjoyable activities and social relations are significant in promoting the quality of life and productivity of people with disabilities. Recreation therapists offer them the opportunity to resume normal life activities and establish or reestablish skills for successful social integration.

The Rehabilitation Department of St. Elizabeth Ann's provides a comprehensive occupational therapy program including one-to-one as well as group therapy for residents of the Center for Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation. Utilizing testing, interview, and skilled observation, the occupational therapist evaluates the resident's ability to engage in activities of daily living, leisure, and work.
