Colorectal Surgery


Our colorectal service ranks as one of the most sophisticated and highly experienced in the region.
  With surgeons at the top of their profession, who are experienced in the medical and surgical treatment all areas of all disorders of the colon, rectum and anus, we offer state-of-the-art treatment for:

  • Colon and rectal cancer and polyps
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Diverticulitis
  • Conditions of the colon and rectum associated with HIV/AIDS
  • Anal problems, such as hemorrhoids, fistulae and fissures.

For the convenience of our patients, we offer:

  • In-office colonoscopy
  • Colonoscopy and in-office, non-surgical hemorrhoid treatment during the same procedure
  • The most minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures whenever possible, to promote less discomfort and faster healing.

 

Important Screenings

If identified and treated early, colorectal cancer is highly treatable.
  Our surgeons recommend that everyone over the age of 50 get a colonoscopy every four or five years, and anal examination every year, and a rigid sigmoidoscopy every two years.  Those who are at high risk, who have a family history of colorectal cancer or who have had cancer or polyps, should begin screenings at age 40.
