We would like to apologize for any inconvenience our renovation project has caused you, but we're upgrading to give you the care you need along with the comfort and privacy you deserve . . . . . . .
That's what our current ED renovation project is about - your comfort - so we promise to do everything possible to minimize disruption to you while we upgrade. Our goal is to serve you in the best way possible. In addition, we would like to provide you with our most up-to-date progress report on the entire project since St. Vincent's is your hospital too.
How long will the renovations take?
With Phase II of the project scheduled to begin at the end of July 2009, we anticipate that renovations will continue in different areas of the department for about a year.
What have we done so far?
· New treatment area:
We are temporarily using the renovated area pictured above to treat adult medical patients, but this area is slated to become a four-bed dedicated trauma room when the entire renovation is complete.
Upgraded waiting area:
We have added new walls, and, by the end of the summer, we will have added new floors, a new entrance, and a centrally placed greeting desk to assist you sooner and better.
· New pediatric rooms in Fast Track:
To ease the anxiety children feel when they visit an emergency department, we have created two child friendly treatment rooms with television access. Childlife specialists are availble in the afternoons to help children get a better sense of control and normalize the hospital experience through play.
DeD Dedicated psychiatric treatment area:
Pic The dedicated psychiatric area is nearing completion. It will offer a private and secure area in which our mental health professionals can deliver care to their patients.
