What's Special About Care Here?
Our Cystic Fibrosis Center, established by the Department of Pediatrics in 1977, is one of only 114 centers in the United States that meets the standards of accreditation set by The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and follows its guidelines for cystic fibrosis care. Our experienced staff has cared for more than 1300 cystic fibrosis patients from all over the world. Patients and their families rely on our accurate diagnostic capabilities, advanced treatment approach, and comprehensive supportive services.
Each patient is monitored by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals with expertise in pulmonary medicine, pediatrics, social work, gastrointestinal/nutrition, physical therapy, exercise, complementary therapy, and genetic counseling. These services are available on-site at the Cystic Fibtosis Center and provided in a comfortable private office setting.
Our center prides itself on excellent patient care and personal attention. As a comprehensive Cystic Fibrosis Center, we participate in a wide range of clinical research studies, as well as community outreach and education programs.
