On December 31, 2007, St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan filed five applications with the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The entire St. Vincent's Hospital campus is located in an historic district, although none of the buildings are individually designated. Accordingly, in addition to zoning approvals, approvals from the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission are required regarding both the demolition of the current buildings and the design of the new buildings.
